Yimin Amelia Yu, Psy.D.
Dr. Yu is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY30425) specializing in evidence-based psychotherapy and assessment of children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She has expertise in serving children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety, depression, life transition, disruptive behaviors, trauma, ADHD, and OCD among other diagnoses. Dr. Yu’s approach to therapy combines culturally sensitive, evidence-based interventions with an emphasis on an individual’s strengths and relationships (e.g. with family, friends, peers). Dr. Yu strives to create a safe and collaborative space where individuals and families can work towards their goals.
Prior to joining Pacific Anxiety Group, Dr. Yu worked at Kaiser San Jose as a clinical psychologist in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, where she also completed her postdoctoral residency. Dr. Yu received her doctorate from Baylor University where she received extensive training in evidence-based treatments including CBT, DBT, ACT, and interpersonal psychotherapy as well as psychological assessment. She completed her internship at Jewish Child and Family Services where she worked with individuals and families and consulted extensively with schools to meet individual educational needs. Dr. Yu has also received specialized training in PC-CARE and PCIT.
In her spare time, Dr. Yu enjoys spending time with family, cooking, exploring new cuisines, playing video games and chasing her cat.
