Yehsong Kim, Ph.D.


Dr. Kim (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY35228) specializing in empirically based care for adults navigating challenges with stress, identity, and mood, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders as well as couples experiencing difficulties in their relationships. With a commitment to providing compassionate and effective care, Dr. Kim works to understand each client’s experiences and goals to tailor evidence-based treatments to guide them towards healing and growth. She is particularly passionate about supporting BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) and LGBTQ+ people, recognizing how culture, identity, and systemic issues can play a crucial role in mental health and well-being.

For individuals, she integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients develop tools and insights, experience relief from suffering, and deepen their connection to themselves and others. For couples, she draws from Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) and Integrative Behavioral Couple Therapy (IBCT) to help couples better understand their relationship patterns and strengthen their communication skills and their connection.

Dr. Kim received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California. She completed her internship at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle, followed by her postdoctoral training at Stanford University’s School of Medicine. She has published 17 peer-reviewed articles on impacts of discrimination on health and on couples’ functioning. She has also received numerous awards for her contributions to DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) during her training.
