Teal Mackintosh, Psy.D.

Dr. Mackintosh (she/her/hers) is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY32082) who provides evidence-based psychotherapy for children, adolescents, young adults, and families. She specializes in the treatment of OCD, anxiety disorders, depression, and other mood-related issues. She also has experience treating body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRPs), tic disorders, and avoidance restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID). When working with clients and their families, Dr. Mackintosh primarily utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), including exposure and response prevention (ERP), but she also has extensive training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).

Dr. Mackintosh received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium. She completed her clinical internship at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver, Canada, where she worked with children and teens struggling with anxiety, OCD, eating disorders, mood concerns, and psychological difficulties related to medical illness. She trained at Kaiser South San Francisco’s Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department for her postdoctoral fellowship, providing evidence-based treatment for youth with a wide range of psychiatric diagnoses, and co-facilitating the adolescent intensive outpatient program.

With her warm and approachable style, Dr. Mackintosh collaborates with clients and their families to work towards therapeutic goals. She is passionate about helping clients learn skills and strategies that will improve their functioning and well-being, while also incorporating flexibility into treatment and tailoring her approach to the specific needs of each individual. In her spare time, Dr. Mackintosh enjoys ice skating, cooking, traveling, and hiking with her dog.
