Karina Petryshova, Psy.D.


Dr. Petryshova is a postdoctoral fellow working towards licensure under the supervision of Dr. Julia Birt and Dr. Anne-Pier Voyer. She is passionate about providing culturally informed evidence-based care to adults and teens impacted by anxiety, depression, and trauma-related disorders. She primarily uses third-wave Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness and compassion-focused interventions. She values creating a collaborative and warm therapeutic environment to support an individual’s journey towards meeting their goals, self-discovery and acceptance, and living life with vitality.

Dr. Petryshova received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from The Wright Institute in 2023. Prior to graduate training, she worked in an adolescent residential treatment program at McLean Hospital, MA. During her graduate studies, she received training in third-wave CBT, substance abuse treatment, and evidence-based trauma treatment. Her practicum experiences include the Wright Institute Recovery Clinic, Wright Institute CBT Clinic, and the Bay Area Trauma Recovery Clinic. Her dissertation research explored the relationship between engagement in spiritual practices and transdiagnostic psychological mechanisms. Dr. Petryshova completed her internship at Kaiser Permanente where she worked with teens in an adolescent intensive outpatient program and provided assessment and therapeutic services to adults in an outpatient setting.
