Jennifer Rich, Psy.D.


Dr. Rich is a licensed psychologist (PSY34633). Dr. Rich earned her Psy.D. from the Wright Institute, in Berkeley, CA. She believes that human beings are capable of enacting great change in their lives and that therapy is most successful at alleviating suffering when tailored to what is desired and effective for each individual person. This tailoring includes sensitivity to and exploration of a client’s diverse and unique lived experience. Dr. Rich views her role as a compassionate and non-judgmental facilitator for a person’s natural tendency to heal under the right conditions.

Dr. Rich operates from a biopsychosocial perspective and utilizes evidence-based interventions. She has received formal training and experience in Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, Systematic Desensitization for phobias, Mindfulness, suicide risk assessment and crisis intervention, trauma-focused “Gold-Standard” therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She also trained in Motivational Interviewing (MI) for substance use disorders. Her areas of expertise are mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, life changes and adjustment concerns, identity development, self-compassion, and emotion regulation.
