Esther Yi, Ph.D.
Dr. Yi (she/her) is a licensed clinical psychologist specializing in evidence-based psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and young adults. Dr. Yi received her doctorate in School Psychology from Northern Illinois University, and completed her clinical internship at a therapeutic day school in Illinois and her clinical postdoctoral fellowship at Pacific Anxiety Group. She has cumulative experience working with children in grades K-12 and their caregivers across various home, school, and clinic settings.
Dr. Yi focuses on building nonjudgmental and caring relationships with her clients. She is trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy Adapted for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM), parent coaching in behavior management, and Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE). Dr. Yi also integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and executive and social skill building to best meet the needs of her child/adolescent clients and their families. She enjoys working with them on a range of treatment concerns including anxiety, mood, and neurodiverse presentations such as ASD and ADHD.
In her free time, Dr. Yi enjoys the company of family and friends, reads fantasy, and drinks a lot of hot tea.
