Esther Yi, Ph.D.


Dr. Yi (she/her/hers) is a postdoctoral fellow working under the supervision of Dr. Amelia Yu and Dr. Melissa Tamas. She received her doctorate in School Psychology from Northern Illinois University, and has clinical experience working with children in grades K-12 and their caregivers across home, school, and clinic settings.

Dr. Yi focuses on building nonjudgmental and caring relationships with her clients. She is trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy Adapted for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM), and parent training in behavior management. Dr. Yi also integrates elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to best meet the needs of her child/adolescent clients and their families. She enjoys working with a range of treatment concerns including anxiety, mood, and neurodevelopmental disorders.
