Emily Pavlisin, Psy.D.


Dr. Pavlisin (she/her/hers) is a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 32245) with expertise in treating depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and life transitions in adults and teens, and perinatal mood concerns in adults. Dr. Pavlisin has advanced training in perinatal mental health, and she is passionate about supporting new and expecting parents through the complex changes that often occur throughout pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.

Dr. Pavlisin’s therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and empowering. She utilizes a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and relational approaches that are attuned to each client’s needs. Dr. Pavlisin values treating the whole person, and works with clients to examine their experiences within their unique biological, social, and cultural contexts. She believes that a therapeutic relationship in which clients feel safe, valued, and understood is a powerful foundation for effective treatment. Within this relationship, Dr. Pavlisin aims to facilitate meaningful insight, teach evidence-based skills, reduce distress, and guide clients to a place in which they feel more present and engaged with their values.

Dr. Pavlisin brings a diverse range of clinical experience to her work at Pacific Anxiety Group. Most recently, she worked with adults at Kaiser Permanente in South San Francisco, where she provided individual and group therapy, worked as part of the triage team to coordinate care, completed crisis evaluations in the emergency department, and provided clinical supervision in the doctoral training program. She completed her postdoctoral residency at Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa as part of the Adult Behavioral Medicine and Child and Family teams. Dr. Pavlisin completed her doctoral internship at California Pacific Medical Center, where she provided therapy and assessment to children, families, and adults. She earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University, with an emphasis in Family Psychology. Throughout graduate school, Dr. Pavlisin pursued extensive training in evidence-based treatment and assessment for children, adolescents, and young adults in various outpatient settings.
