Emily C. Fox, Psy.D.


Dr. Fox (she/her/hers) is a postdoctoral fellow at Pacific Anxiety Group working under the supervision of Dr. Anya Kogan and Dr. Kate Corcoran. She specializes in evidence-based therapy for adults and couples. In her individual work, Dr. Fox works primarily using Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), therapy models that emphasize how changing our relationship to ourselves – shifting from self-criticism to self-compassion, from avoidance of difficult feelings to openness and curiosity – can help us to feel more grounded, confident, and capable of living the lives we want. In her work with couples, Dr. Fox primarily uses Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy (EFT), a gold-standard treatment designed to help couples recognize the unhelpful patterns they get trapped in; understand the underlying needs fueling these negative cycles; and break free from these patterns to reach for their partners and build deeper intimacy, trust, and emotional connection.

Dr. Fox received her PsyD from the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium in 2023. She completed her clinical internship at the New Mexico VA Medical Center, where she received specialty training in Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy for Couples (IBCT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Processing Therapy for Trauma (CPT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). Dr. Fox has additionally received specific training in providing affirming care to LGBTQ+ folx, working with complex trauma survivors, and providing mindfulness-based interventions for recurrent depression and anxiety.

Dr. Fox is passionate about providing clinical care with heart, ensuring that each of her clients feels deeply seen, understood, and supported throughout the therapeutic process.
