Eliza J. Davidson, Ph.D.


Dr. Davidson (she/her/hers) is a postdoctoral fellow at Pacific Anxiety Group working under the supervision of Dr. Elise Gibbs and Dr. Ryan Kozina. She has experience working with adults with anxiety, mood, and obsessive-compulsive spectrum disorders across the lifespan. Dr. Davidson delivers cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) including exposure and response prevention (ERP) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).

Dr. Davidson graduated summa cum laude from Northeastern University in Boston. She received her Ph.D. from the Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology at San Diego State University and the University of California San Diego. As a doctoral student, Dr. Davidson completed clinical rotations at the VA San Diego, San Diego State University Psychology Clinic, and Center for Understanding and Treating Anxiety. She completed her clinical internship at Sharp Healthcare in San Diego. Dr. Davidson has worked in treatment development research for obsessive-compulsive disorders including body dysmorphic disorder and hoarding disorder, as well as transdiagnostic interventions for anxiety and depression, and facilitating greater social connection among isolated older adults. Dr. Davidson utilizes this research lens in her clinical work in her treatment conceptualization and application of evidence-based treatment modalities.

Dr. Davidson encourages a collaborative and pragmatic approach to treatment that is highly individualized and goal-oriented. She infuses humor, compassion, and creativity in her clinical work to guide and empower clients in cultivating greater psychological flexibility to lead fulfilling, values-driven lives. In service of this, Dr. Davidson is passionate about enhancing social connection and supportive relationships for her clients to facilitate more pervasive and sustainable change.
