Elise Gibbs, Psy.D.


Dr. Gibbs (she/her/hers) is a licensed psychologist (PSY30380), board certified in clinical psychology, who specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for adults with anxiety, OCD, and eating disorders. She has extensive experience helping clients with perfectionism, work-life balance, stress, communication, relationships, and specific goal setting. Her style has been described as supportive, practical, collaborative, and infused with humor.

Dr. Gibbs provides individual therapy using the following modalities: CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Enhanced CBT for Eating Disorders (CBT-E). She is a certified ERP therapist for OCD. She incorporates interventions based in mindfulness, self-compassion, values, and acceptance to best support each client’s needs and preferences. Therapy is highly customized to the context of each client’s experience and identity, and Dr. Gibbs regularly engages in ongoing training and consultation to continually improve the care she provides.

Dr. Gibbs graduated with Honors and Distinction in Psychology from Stanford University, earned her doctorate from the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium, and trained as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford Psychiatry. In addition to her work at the Pacific Anxiety Group, Dr. Gibbs is a member of the clinical faculty at Stanford Psychiatry, where she serves as an attending psychologist in the Adult Outpatient Eating Disorders Clinic, supervises psychology and psychiatry trainees, and facilitates Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) groups.
