In her practice, Dr. Dickens strives to build open, compassionate, and genuine relationships with her clients. She emphasizes the roles that each client’s unique cultural identities, values, life experiences, and ongoing stressors play in maintaining their distress, working collaboratively to individualize treatment to their needs based on these factors. She frequently implements mindfulness, values, and acceptance-based techniques to help clients identify or clarify the lives they want to live, understand the obstacles standing in their way, and build skills to overcome these barriers.
